Creative Futures

Creative Futures

The Creative Futures team run daily one-to-one career surgeries to advise students on their career planning, CVs, and job search.

The Creative Futures team runs group Career Development workshops throughout the year to advise students on their career paths and what options are available to them in the creative industries.

Creative Futures aims to help and advise all students to navigate the festival circuit and commercial platforms, ensuring cost-effective and strategic decisions are made to maximise the opportunities for their films and online content.

Students are invited to Masterclasses with special guests across all disciplines, who discuss their work, current issues, and changes within the screen industries.

Previous guests include Armando Iannucci, Roger Deakins, Sally Wainwright, Charlie Brooker, Amma Asante, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones, and Tim Roth.

Creative Futures runs film competitions that give students the opportunity to produce content for clients with awarded budgets.

Creative Futures connects students and graduates with upcoming opportunities including full-time jobs, freelance contracts, internships, and placements.

The jobs board includes jobs exclusively for MetFilm School students, as well as a curated selection from the industry.

If you have a job, work experience, or internship opportunity for our students and graduates, please email sarahw@metfilm.co.uk.

Creative Futures runs a weekly screening programme on Thursday evenings in London and Berlin, giving students an opportunity to get together to watch a curated selection of films together.

We also run regular networking events to help students connect and collaborate on projects across cohorts. At MetFilm School London, we run weekly mixers on a Tuesday evening in the Grindhouse where students, tutors, and staff can unwind at the end of the day.

What employers say about MetFilm School students…

Just to say a big thankyou for sending us two students for work experience. They both got really stuck in and asked plenty of questions. We hope to hire them over the summer on some of our broadcast and corporate shoots.

MetFilm Production, our sister company, offer 3-4 in-house work experience placements per year for MetFilm School graduates.

Selected graduates work in a variety of capacities across MetFilm Production, MetFilm Sales, and MetFilm Distribution. In the past, this has included work on award-winning productions such as The Reason I Jump and Misha and the Wolves.

The Kitroom provides all the kit, as well as technical assistance to our hundreds of student productions. They work closely with our supplier, Procam Take 2, to ensure the students have what they need to do their best work.
