Certificate of Higher Education, also known as a CertHE, is the equivalent to Level 4 (year one) of an undergraduate or bachelor’s degree

Want a gateway into the games industry? MetStudios’ practical CertHE courses offer an introduction to the dynamic disciplines of game development. This one-year course offers an exciting opportunity for game makers and producers to delve into their craft through engaging lectures, workshops, and the creation of a comprehensive creative portfolio.

While the course primarily caters to international students, we also welcome mature students who possess experiential ability, even without formal qualifications. The course presents the perfect avenue for creative practitioners to benefit from the MetStudios experience and networking opportunities.

This course is offered through our partnership with BIMM University. UK students on this course may be eligible for the maximum Tuition Fee Loan amount, which covers the full tuition fee. Please check the Fees & Finance section for more information.

Module Overview

The Games Art pathway focuses on the key skills required for games development within art departments and an introduction to the software development lifecycle. It will develop and encourage debate around the cultural and political nature of games and development.

Students will study the following modules:

  • Foundational Art
  • 2D workflows
  • Introduction to Games Engines
  • 3D Models
  • PBR and Lighting
  • Prototyping
  • Studio Project

 

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • UCAS Tariff: 64 points
  • A-Level: CC
  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: MMP
  • GCSE: Three GCSEs at a minimum grade C/4, including English Language or Level 2 Equivalents
  • IELTS: 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band
