Brighton Central
Just a stone’s throw from Brighton Pier, our Old Steine site boasts four floors of teaching space, including a film set, Mac suite, screening room, and – of course – a relaxing student common room.
Home to our weekly masterclasses, and situated right beside the famous Brighton Lanes, the building is filled with state-of-the-art equipment and industry-standard software.
Brighton Central is home to MetStudios, our games, animation, and VFX school, boasting an impressive suite of high-spec gaming PCs and top-of-the-range equipment loaded with industry-leading software. Students learn with key games engines like Unity and Unreal, and master a wide range of programmes and software.
MetStudios students also enjoy versatile workshop spaces, for idea generation and prototyping, in which to work on their creative projects before translating them to the screen.
Brighton Production House
Just a short walk from Brighton station, Production House offers yet another film set, an Avid and editing suite, a relaxin student space, and another top-of-the-range Mac suite.
The Production House is also home to our Student Services team, for a friendly face and helpful guidance whenever you need it.
Brighton Film Studios
Our flagship campus building boasts 11,000 square feet of space. Located just over two miles north-east of the city centre, Brighton Film Studios is one of the most unique film lots of its kind on the south coast.
Inside, you will find:
- Two large-scale flexible film sets
- Two storeys of tech storage for lighting, camera, and sound equipment
- Mac editing suite with the latest Avid and Adobe editing software.
- Our extensive creative art department
- Green room
- Production meeting room and student lounge
Lighting Equipment
Lighting training across courses aligns with industry trends, focusing on modular systems and sustainability.
Students work with Aputure and Aputure Amaran LED lighting systems, complemented by a range of industry-standard tungsten fixtures, including Dedos, Arri 650s, Arri 1K, Arri2K, and Kinos.
Creative Art Department
Brighton Film Studios is also home to an extensive and well-equipped creative art department featuring resources such as:
- Hair and make-up studio
- Production design studio
- Creative technical space for students
- Design hub with specialist software
- CAD studio
- Photographic stage for test shoots
- Shower facilities for models

- XP-Pen Artist 22″ graphics tablets for precise digital art creation

- Complete console gaming facilities, with PlayStation 5, XBox Series S & X, Nintendo Switch, and legacy systems
Advanced Software Tools
You’ll have access to a comprehensive suite of software, including:
- Games Engines: Unreal Engine 5 and Unity for developing 2D and 3D projects
- 3D Design: Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, and Side FX Houdini for modelling, rigging, and visual effects
- Creative Suite: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Substance 3D Painter and Designer) and Blender
- Programming: Visual Studio for coding and scripting
