Daniel Alexander

Daniel Alexander is an award-winning director and filmmaker based in Birmingham.
He currently produces and directs work for platforms and agencies including the BBC Academy and the BFI including the official Commonwealth Games Handover for the BBC, which was streamed live from Australia and reached an audience of over 1.5 billion.
Daniel is the creative producer and curator of the region’s leading BAME film development programme, BACK IN, which has commissioned over eighteen filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. He has partnered with the BBC, the BFI and PUNCH to launch national BACK IN screening campaigns. He is also a BAFTA crew member and sits on the board of the region’s industry screen body, ‘CREATE CENTRAL’
In addition to his career as a professional creative, Daniel is committed to social engagement and artist development, and regularly delivers community workshops for emerging artists, “hard-to- reach” and excluded young people from a variety of backgrounds.
