BA Acting for Screen Deputy Programme Leader, MetFilm School Leeds

Lucy Francis is an actor, educator, and creative leader with over 20 years of experience in leading creative teams and championing excellence within the creative arts. As Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Acting for Screen degree at MetFilm School Leeds, she combines professional expertise with a deep commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience. Her work is defined by her ability to foster collaboration, creativity, and confidence, preparing students to thrive in an ever-evolving screen and performance landscape.

Before beginning her career in education, Lucy spent several years travelling extensively, working and studying across Europe, Asia, and Australia. These experiences broadened her artistic vision and inspired the development of her touring performance company, a comedy collective celebrated for its bold, female-driven work.

Lucy is also deeply committed to outreach and widening participation in higher education. She actively works to create opportunities for aspiring creatives from underrepresented backgrounds, ensuring that diverse voices play a vital role in shaping the future of the screen and performance industries.

Now based in Leeds, Lucy continues to balance her creative practice with her work in education, inspiring students to approach their craft with curiosity and integrity.
