Tomas Quezada

Tomas Quezada is a Manchester-based writer and director committed to telling challenging stories that provoke and entertain in equal measure.
Beginning his career as an actor, he appeared in BBC’s Sorted and ITV’s Where The Heart Is before studying English and Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. After graduating, he returned to Manchester, where he played in the indie-rock band The Hotspur Press, directed music videos, and began developing his voice as a filmmaker.
His work has been accepted into numerous BAFTA and BIFA qualifying film festivals, in addition to festivals in Europe and North America. His 2022 short He Takes the Lead, follows a man caring for his mother and playing along when she mistakes him for his late father. His 2024 comedy Legends, depicts a friendship tested by a shocking confession, complete with a musical twist.
Tomas is a member of Directors UK, and is currently developing a comedy TV pilot. He’s also wrapping up post-production on his latest comedic short, I’d Do Anything.
