MA Post Production grad Savani Mohite on her journey from foundation to founder

By MetFilm School

22 May 2025

MA Post Production Savani Mohite credits her time at MetFilm School for launching her successful international post-production career. The founder of 25 Post House looks back at her transition from student to post-production generalist, emphasising the pivotal role of MetFilm School’s practical training and guidance in her development.

We caught up with Savani to learn more about her time at MetFilm School, her evolving career across the UK and India, and her perspective on what it takes to succeed in post-production.

How did your journey into post-production begin?

My journey started with a six-month Post-Production starter course at MetFilm School, led by Michael McHugh. That course laid the foundation for everything that followed — it inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Post-Production at MetFilm School, a decision that proved both enriching and challenging, but ultimately transformative. My time studying has shaped me into the editor and post-production specialist I am today.

What have you been working on since graduating?

Since completing my studies, I’ve worked extensively in both the UK and India. I founded my own post-production company, 25 Post House, currently based in India, with plans to expand operations to the UK soon.

What drew you to specialise as a post-production generalist?

I began my career as an editor and colourist, often handling projects that needed complete end-to-end post workflows. That naturally led me into the role of a post-production generalist. To complete the full pipeline, I later pursued a second Master’s in Visual Effects (VFX), which helped broaden my skills even further.

What do you think makes a strong post-production professional today?

Being a generalist means having a deep understanding of the full workflow — from offline editing and colour grading to compositing and VFX. But more importantly, it requires a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability. These values — of growth, curiosity, and resilience — were instilled in me at MetFilm School.

Was there anyone at MetFilm School who particularly influenced your path?

Absolutely — Michael McHugh played a pivotal role in my development. His mentorship was key, both technically and creatively. Everything I’ve achieved so far is deeply rooted in the education and support I received at MetFilm, and I’m genuinely grateful for that experience.
