At MetFilm School, we’re proud to champion every craft within the film, screen, and media sector – from cinematography to producing, directing to acting. Last week, we explored our BA (Hons) Acting for Screen degree in Leeds, designed for those who want to develop their craft over three years in one of the UK’s most exciting creative hubs.
This week, we turn our focus to London – home of the BA (Hons) Screen Acting (2-Year Accelerated) degree. It’s an intensive, full-time pathway for those ready to fast-track their professional training and enter the industry sooner, with the same hands-on, collaborative approach that defines MetFilm School.
Focus on screen acting
The BA (Hons) Screen Acting degree is all about immersion. Based in the heart of London’s film community, students gain access to professional studios, industry-standard equipment, and a network of working filmmakers, directors, and producers.
This accelerated course compresses three years of training into two – ideal for ambitious performers who are ready to commit fully to their craft. Across four semesters, students develop the technical, emotional, and creative range needed for on-screen work, from mastering camera awareness to building authentic, nuanced performances.
London itself becomes part of the learning environment. As the beating heart of the UK’s film and television industries, the city offers countless opportunities for collaboration, casting calls, and professional networking.
Learn from industry professionals
Students are taught by a team of industry-active lecturers — working actors, directors, and screen practitioners who bring real-world experience directly into the classroom. Every workshop and project is led by people who continue to work in the industry today, helping students understand both the craft and the business of screen acting.
This mix of practical training and professional insight prepares graduates not only to perform but to navigate life as a working screen actor – from auditioning and self-taping to understanding how sets operate and how different departments collaborate to tell stories.
“This course is designed for aspiring screen actors who are passionate about performance and storytelling. The vision of the BA (Hons) Screen Acting course is to develop confident, resilient, and industry-ready actors who are both creative performers and informed collaborators, both in front of and behind the camera. The course combines rigorous, craft-based training with contemporary industry insight, ensuring that students are equipped to thrive in a competitive and evolving landscape.”
Collaboration and creativity
As with all MetFilm School courses, collaboration sits at the core of the Screen Acting degree. Students work side-by-side with peers from Filmmaking, Directing, and Production courses, gaining first-hand experience of what it means to perform within a working production environment.
Each semester culminates in filmed projects that build confidence and adaptability. By the end of the degree, students graduate with a professional showreel and an understanding of screen performance shaped by real, hands-on practice.
Graduate success stories
BA Screen Acting graduate Olivia Maiden has been awarded the Pears Short Film Fund for her short drama To Fly or Float — a moving story about childhood grief, Jewish identity, and family bonds set in 1970s Birmingham.
She is now developing a feature-length version of the story, alongside new film and TV projects — a brilliant example of how MetFilm School graduates continue to tell powerful, personal stories on screen.
Step into your future
If you’re ready to dedicate yourself fully to screen performance and want to graduate industry-ready in just two years, BA (Hons) Screen Acting (2-Year Accelerated) is the perfect route.
It’s fast-paced, focused, and designed to launch you into the screen industries with the confidence, skill, and professionalism you’ll need to succeed.
