BA Content, Media & Film Production: how MetFilm School graduates are redefining screen creativity

At MetFilm School, the BA (Hons) Content, Media & Film Production degree prepares students to become adaptable, industry-ready creatives from day one. Through a blend of storytelling, production practice, and hands-on experience, the course gives students the tools to launch real careers across film, television, and emerging media.

At our London, Leeds, and Birmingham campuses, graduates are now putting those skills into action, making their mark in virtual production, studio operations, post-production, and independent filmmaking.

Here are four graduates whose journeys show how practical learning at MetFilm School can lead to professional success.

Sam Kemp – from coursework to cutting-edge production

After completing his BA Content, Media & Film Production degree, Sam Kemp joined Garden Studios, where he now works as a Virtual Production Technician and Technical Director at his production company, Window Zebra.

On his favourite project at MetFilm, he told us:

“I would say shooting The Time Between Us with Anna Boronea (BA Practical Filmmaking) in my second year. I fought off some MA Cinematography students for the Director of Photography role, which helped to boost my confidence as a cinematographer.”

He also spoke on his passion for innovation in the industry, explaining:

“I love having to figure out new ways of doing things and, especially when it comes to Virtual Production, doing things that nobody has done before.”

Adam Mamoun – from graduation to Doctor Who

After graduating with the first cohort of the BA Content, Media & Film Production in London, Adam Mamoun quickly moved into post-production. He joined the BBC Traineeship Scheme, working on Jodie Whittaker’s final season of Doctor Who, and later became an Edit Assistant at Entertainment One.

Reflecting on his time at MetFilm School, he told us:

“I studied on the BA Content, Media & Film Production course in London. If I had to summarise the degree in one sentence, it was a bible for learning the most important skills for entering the media industry.”

Adam’s career is a great example of how the course can lead directly to high-profile post-production roles in major UK television and film.

Harry Maduagwu – thriving behind the scenes

Harry Maduagwu turned his coursework experience into a professional pathway at Garden Studios, working in facilities and virtual production.

On his interest in emerging media, he said:

“I’d say that the future of film definitely belongs to Virtual Production, so, whereas I wasn’t aware of it before, I would definitely say I’m interested in it now.”

Harry’s journey illustrates how the course connects students to real industry environments, enabling them to move seamlessly from study to professional work.

Diandra Vazquez – from short film to feature documentary

Diandra Vazquez developed her storytelling voice at MetFilm School, turning a student short into her feature-length documentary Origen Torombo.

She spoke to us about how she learnt her storytelling skills:

“For me, learning how to write a script was wonderful. English isn’t my first language, so I was always lacking in confidence, but when I was taught how to structure a script, how to develop a narrative, how to really tell a story… something inside of me woke up.”

Diandra’s work demonstrates how the course nurtures independent creative voices and equips students to produce professional-level films.

A degree designed for the industry

The BA (Hons) Content, Media & Film Production course combines technical craft with creative exploration – from film and branded content to digital storytelling and virtual production. Each module is built around real briefs and industry collaboration, ensuring graduates step into the professional world with both practical experience and artistic confidence.

From Sam Kemp to Adam Mamoun, Diandra Vazquez, and Harry Maduagwu, our alumni prove what can happen when creativity, ambition, and real-world experience come together.
