A Screen International Star of Tomorrow 2020, Tom Wood is a producer for Wellington Films and Western Edge Pictures.
In 2020 Tom produced Sophie Littman’s BFI-backed short film SUDDEN LIGHT (starring Esmé Creed-Miles) which was selected in the Official Short Film Competition at Cannes Film Festival 2020, won the Grand Prix for International Short Film at Cork Film Festival and has been nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Short Film.
In 2019 Tom co-produced Billie Piper’s directorial feature film debut RARE BEASTS for Western Edge. The film premiered at Venice Critics Week 2019, in the UK at London Film Festival, and would have screened at SXSW 2020. Tom is currently finishing post-production on Maria Martinez Bayona’s short film adaptation of SUCH SMALL HANDS by Andres Barba, funded by Film4.
Tom is also in post-production with Western Edge on GAZZA, a documentary about the life and career of English footballer Paul Gascoigne. In 2021 Tom will produce Alice Lowe’s second feature film TIMESTALKER, and Vaughan Sivell’s CRUSADERS, both through Western Edge.
Tom has projects in development with Film4, BBC Films, Creative Scotland, the BFI and the Scottish Film Talent Network. His slate includes work from writing and directing talent such as Alice Lowe, Nick Saltrese, Vaughan Sivell, Ruth Paxton, Joseph Wilde, Omar El Khairy, Maria Martinez Bayona, Patrick Flanery, Damola Adelaja and Sophie Littman.
