MetFilm School London: Ealing Studios’ two-year transformation

We’re thrilled to share that Ealing Studios, the oldest working film studios in the world, has just completed a two-year redevelopment, one that honours its rich history while setting a new benchmark for production in the UK.

MetFilm School’s main London campus is situated within the Ealing Studios complex, offering a direct, hands-on connection to a historic working film and television studio. This proximity offers students unparalleled access to industry-standard facilities and professionals, enabling practical, real-world learning experiences.

The redevelopment includes a brand-new 14,000 sq ft net-zero carbon stage, purpose-built for film and high-end television, as well as expansion of offices. This comprises 25,500 sq ft of beautifully designed, leasable workspace across four floors in two new buildings, along with amenities that support a creative lifestyle and wellbeing. There’s also a striking new reception and offices that combine Art Deco heritage with modern facilities and services.

The total sound stage space is now at 36,000 sq ft, combining the historic 1930s listed stages with the new state-of-the-art stage, as well as 25,000 sq ft of renovated production offices and costume space.

The redevelopment strengthens Ealing Studio’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and serving creatives with the best possible infrastructure available. And its excellent transport links, including the Elizabeth line, access to central London, Heathrow, and creative hubs, are better than ever.
