We spoke with BA (Hons) Film Business & Production graduate Georgia Moore, who has recently been selected for the Channel 4 Content Creatives Programme 2025. She shared her reaction to the news and told us about how her degree shaped her journey, and what she hopes to achieve next.
What was your initial reaction when you found out you’d been selected for the Channel 4 Content Creatives Programme 2025?
“Honestly, pure shock. I was actually working on some content at the time, so my phone was on Do Not Disturb. When I eventually checked it, I saw a missed call and a voicemail from Channel 4. I rang back straight away, but they didn’t pick up at first, so I was just sitting there anxiously waiting.
When they finally called me back and told me the news, I genuinely couldn’t believe it. I’d felt really confident after my interview and with the content I’d produced for them. Still, after facing so many rejections since leaving university, finally getting an acceptance for something I wanted so badly and had worked so hard for, especially with a company like Channel 4, felt completely surreal.”
What drew you to the BA (Hons) Film Business & Production course at MetFilm School?
“I actually applied for both BA Filmmaking and BA Film Business and Production because I wasn’t sure which path suited me best. I’d always been drawn to the idea of combining creativity with strategy, but I wasn’t entirely confident about which course aligned with my strengths.
When I came in for my interview and spoke with David, the former principal, he told me he thought BA Film Business would be a better fit for me. Hearing that from someone who really understood the industry made everything click, and I’ve never looked back.”
In what ways did the course prepare you for applying and securing this opportunity with Channel 4?
“Honestly, if I listed every way the course prepared me, I might be here all day. But the biggest things were definitely the organisational skills I developed, learning how to properly read and respond to briefs, and getting comfortable working in teams.
The course also gave me plenty of opportunities to present my ideas clearly and confidently, which was huge when it came to the interview and the content task for Channel 4. All of those skills together made me feel prepared and capable going into the application process.”
Were there any particular modules, tutors, or projects that had a significant impact on your creative or professional development?
“My lecturer, Diva, had the biggest impact on me both creatively and professionally. I looked up to her throughout my studies and still do now. I was always inspired by her knowledge, her passion, and her determination to succeed in the creative sector.
Her constant belief in me and what I could achieve genuinely kept me motivated. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her support throughout university; she played a huge role in helping me grow as both a creative and a professional.”
The Content Creatives Programme focuses on digital content and multi-platform storytelling. How does this align with the skills or interests you developed during your degree?
“It actually aligns really closely. During my degree, I became really interested in how content can be shaped and adapted for different platforms, and how audience behaviour changes depending on where they’re watching.
I also developed a strong foundation in creating digital content from understanding briefs to planning, producing, and evaluating what works. So the programme feels like a natural next step, building on everything I loved during my course and giving me the chance to apply those storytelling skills in a real industry setting.”
Could you walk us through how you approached the application process? Was there anything you feel helped you stand out?
“I’m not entirely sure what specifically made me stand out, but I reached a point with applications where I stopped putting so much pressure on myself. Instead of trying to guess what people wanted to hear, I focused on being myself and letting my passion come through.
I also tried to make the process feel more fun and reflective. Each application became a chance for me to look at who I am as a creative – what I enjoy, what I’m good at, and what I can offer. I think that honesty and self-awareness helped me communicate more clearly and confidently, which probably made my application feel more genuine.”
What are you most excited about as you begin the programme, and what are your long-term goals within the screen and content industries?
“I’m most excited to be back in a creative environment surrounded by like-minded people. Being around other creatives is something I’ve really missed since finishing university, so I’m looking forward to that energy and collaboration again.
In terms of long-term goals, I want to keep producing films and continue growing in the world of content creation and social media. I’m also really passionate about building something of my own, creating a business where I can bring all of those skills together and have my own space in the industry.”
