Hira Hosein

Hira Hosein is a producer, director and educator with over a decade of experience in the film and television industry. Drawing on her Trinbagonian and Pakistani heritage, she brings a broad cultural perspective to both filmmaking and teaching, with a passion for stories that connect people across communities.

A film graduate from the University of the West Indies, before joining MetFilm School, Hira held senior production and communications roles in television broadcasting and several production houses, where she worked across documentaries, factual entertainment, commercials and television productions. Her experience spans project development, production management, budgeting, talent engagement and creative leadership, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process from concept to delivery.

At MetFilm, Hira teaches producing, short films and film business subjects, helping students understand both the creative and commercial realities of the screen industries. She is particularly passionate about championing the role of the producer and encouraging collaborative, industry-focused approaches to filmmaking. She believes that the strongest productions are built on collaboration, thoughtful planning and a genuine passion for storytelling.
