Fiona Adams

Fiona is Head of Careers for Creative Futures at MetFilm School, initiating and developing a wide range of career-enhancing initiatives for all students. She hosts a number of high-profile masterclasses, bringing a range of diverse and inclusive industry guests to BIMM University. Fiona also secures exciting partnerships with a large number of film, TV and digital media companies, providing multiple work experience and employment opportunities for students and graduates – giving them the tools and information that put students in the best possible position for success in the industry.

Fiona’s experience starting out as a producer’s assistant in features, moving onto producing music videos for Creation Records and then to directing and shooting documentary films for the BBC, ITV, C4 and C5 gives her a full overview of the industry and enables her to identify employment trends and opportunities developing in the industry for the benefit of students.

Judith Suckling – Co- Head of Careers

Judith Suckling is Head of Careers and Industry at MetFilm School Manchester. Having worked in various Production Management teams in the TV & Film Industry in Manchester for more than 10 years, she has a wealth of experience and knowledge to call upon.

She has previously worked in a variety of genres and for several different companies throughout her career. These include feature films (Hush, Goal III), drama (Shameless, Paradox, Little Crackers), documentary (Making Bradford British, Coach Trip) and also children’s television (Hacker Time, Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind Up, Marrying Mum and Dad).

Judith has just completed her Master’s in Creative Writing. She has also written a YA (young adult) novel and has numerous articles published in a variety of publications.

Tom Holmes – Career Manager, London

Tom is Met Film’s Careers Manager and offers support to all students as they begin their journeys into the screen industries. Previously, Tom worked at London Screen Academy, a free sixth-form college in North London founded by Working Title, EON Films and Heyday Films dedicated to developing the next generation of UK filmmakers.

There, he set up the UK’s largest mentoring programme for young people in the screen industries. Other former roles included leading on Screenskill’s flagship new entrant scheme, Film Trainee Finder, supporting young creative Londoners at Media Trust and working alongside filmmakers and A-list talent at the Sundance Film Festival. Tom has sat on panels discussing new-entrant routes in the screen industries at BECTU, BAFTA and the BFI London Film Festival. When not at work or the cinema, he can often be found running around one of London’s many parks or at a yoga class

Lily Freeston – Careers Manager, Manchester

Lily is a Producer and Careers Manager at MetFilm School Manchester. She’s driven by telling socially engaged stories and widening access to the creative industries. Her approach to career coaching supports self-awareness and confidence-building.

After attending University of the Arts London, Lily trained and worked as an in-house journalist and producer at BBC Digital Current Affairs (UK) and BBC World Service, where she spent several years producing short digital films and long-form radio documentaries for broadcast.

In 2020, Lily won a Fulbright x BAFTA scholarship, which funded her documentary master’s in the US. She later received a BAFTA Pigott scholarship, and her debut independent film — a 16mm documentary short — was an official selection at Aesthetica Film Festival 2022.

Lily has since worked as a freelance producer across branded content, commercials, music videos and more; most recently at Channel 4. She leads the BFI Film Academy at HOME Manchester.

Anya Krasnikova – Careers Manager, Brighton

Anya is Careers Manager at MetFilm Brighton, where she also lectures on Cinematography and Professional Portfolio modules for L6 and MA students. Alongside her role at MetFilm, she works as a Director of Photography on narrative and documentary films.

Years of experience gave her a first-hand understanding of the varied paths a career in the film industry can take, which she draws on to guide students toward opportunities that suit their own ambitions and strengths.

Anya is passionate about championing diversity and widening perspectives within the industry. For the last decade, she has shared her experience with aspiring filmmakers, and in her role as Careers Manager, she’s committed to helping build a more diverse and inclusive pipeline of talent into the film industry.

Lucy Carey – Careers Manager, Birmingham

Lucy is a graduate of both the National Film and Television School and Brighton Film School. She began her career as a runner on high-end television productions before progressing into the Assistant Director (AD) department, gaining experience across a range of productions in development.

After completing a casting course led by renowned casting director Jane Arnell, Lucy transitioned into casting, where she has worked across feature films, documentaries, and high-end television for both the British and American markets.

As a Careers Manager, Lucy combines her industry knowledge with first-hand experience of building a career from the ground up. She is passionate about helping emerging talent navigate the industry, identify their strengths, and find their own path within film and television.

MetFilm School Graduate Careers Manager: Lynette Slight ​

Lynette is a highly experienced Television Line Producer with over 20 years in the UK and international film and TV industry. She has worked with major broadcasters across the world, delivering award-winning documentaries, dramas and factual series in both studio and on-location settings. She also spent 5 years as Head of Post-Production at a post house, so has a vast knowledge of the industry and its complexities. ​

​Combining creative insight with strong operational expertise, Lynette has led productions from development to delivery, managing complex budgets, teams, and logistics. She has also supported the growth of media businesses, building teams and fostering strong industry relationships.​

​Now Graduate Careers Manager at MetFilm School, Lynette is passionate about helping students launch sustainable careers, offering practical, industry-focused guidance to the next generation of filmmakers.​

Careers Manager, MetFilm School, Berlin: Peter Becker

Peter is an Anglo-German actor with a diverse background spanning film, theatre, and adult education. Trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, he has worked across German-language and international productions, with screen credits including One Trillion Dollars (Paramount+), Babylon Berlin, Bad Banks, and the ZDF series WIR, of which he has been a main cast member since 2021. On stage, he has performed at some of Europe’s most prestigious theatres, including the National Theatre in London, Volkstheater in Vienna, and Deutsches Theater in Berlin.

Combining performance expertise with a strong understanding of communication, Peter has spent years coaching clients across business, media, and culture as a communication trainer and presentation coach. He is a certified Communication and Behavioural Trainer (artop, Humboldt University of Berlin) and a certified Mental Health First Aider.

Now Lead Lecturer in Acting at BIMM University Berlin, Peter brings real industry experience into the classroom, supporting students in developing the skills and confidence to build sustainable careers in the performing arts.
