Steve Pinhay is Deputy School Director & the Postgraduate Course Leader at MetFilm School. He brings his extensive experience of producing across a range of genres to his teaching at the school
Alongside heading up the MA courses, Steve acts as MA Producing and MA Film & Television Production Programme Leader leading modules and facilitating industry field research for students. He also plays a pivotal role in overseeing the structure of the Industry Project where MA students collaborate together on a project responding to real live briefs from industry clients.
Steve comes to MetFilm School with over 20 years of experience working in Television. Over the course of his career, he has worked on various entertainment genres, always with an eye for producing original format productions.
Steve is a former Arts Centre director, director of regional cinemas and art galleries, Director of the Association of Independent Producers and the founder of Britain’s first Media Centre, where he won the BFI Independent Spirit Award. He has 25 years’ experience of television producing in the UK and across the world, including BAFTA and RTS award-winning shows, working for companies such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Discovery, Sky and Disney. Steve is a member of the NFTS Television Advisory Board.
