By Cassio | Categorised in Alumni Interviews

Mohamed El Sehrawy, a current BA Filmmaking student, has won theStudent Category award for his film “For Granted” at the recent Sony Production Awards.

Beautifully shot, with a great use of natural light and a strong visual style, Mohamed stated that his film “is a silent symbolic film that serves as a reminder to our egos that nothing comes from nothing and that we must learn to stop taking things for granted.”

One of the judges, Molly Clarke, explained why this film was chosen as winner of it’s category, hailing the short as “a perfect example of carefully planned and executed filmmaking, of an idea seen successfully through to conception.”

There were nearly 100 student entries with a shortlist of only 5 student films, with Mohamed’s coming out on top! Congratulations Mohamed!
