Film Festival Exposure

By Cassio | Categorised in Film Festival Diary
Greetings, I’m Rebekah (aka The Film Festival Doctor) and I am Met Film School’s Film Festival Manager. I’m delighted to be working at Met Film School and managing a diverse and compelling selection of shorts with the intention to achieve successful film festival exposure. Met Film School is one of the very few film schools in the UK who have had a strong festival success, Egill Kristbjornsson’s short film PAPER launched at the USA’s Tribeca Film Festival in 2010.
I’m currently managing 10 short films. All of them are in the process of being submitted to festivals and I’m pleased to say that so far, two of them, documentary THE HIGH PRICE OF GOLD (directed by Ross Domoney) and WAXWING (directed by Tim Mercier), have become part of the British Council Film’s Short Support Scheme. The Council will be helping me promote the film by screening the films to top tier festival programmers, hopefully I’ll have some good news to report back to you within the next few months. However what I can hint to you all at this stage is that both of these films will be launching at a prestigious UK festival early next year, all will be revealed next time including details of how you can get tickets to attend the screenings.
And finally, for those of you who are seeking help designing festival strategies for your film or need a bit of general advice when it comes to planning festival campaigns for your short, take a look at my bite size interview which was produced by Met Film School’s Graduate Opportunities Manager, Maureen Hascoet.
