Meet the Alumni – Georgia Benjamin

By Cassio | Categorised in Alumni Interviews

Our Meet the Alumni series is designed to give you an insight into what our recent graduates are up to and their experience at the Met Film School.

This week we meet Georgia Benjamin who studied  Two-Day Intensive Filmmaking.
Why did you choose your course at the Met Film School?
I chose Met Film School because I was looking for a short, intensive course in the practical elements of filmmaking and really wanted to do a course in Ealing Studios. I liked the fact the weekend course offered to practice skills such as directing and editing as opposed to focusing on just one area of filmmaking.

How would you describe your time at the School?

I absolutely loved my time at Met Film School. Even though I was only there for two days, I learnt so much in little time and felt a great amount of support from the industry professionals. I also thought it was very enjoyable because it was all practical, I liked the way we got straight into making a short film.

What was the highlight of the course?

I’d say all of it was great! But I think my favourite part was being given the opportunity to work with professional actors and excellent equipment, it really gave me an insight to the film industry.

Do you have any links to your Met Film School projects (youtube link, url)?

I have a Youtube channel where I have posted the short film I created with a group.

What were the advantages of being taught by industry professionals?

I’d say the main advantage is their experience which they can pass onto you. They can give you advice which will definitely help you when creating your own projects.

What projects have you worked on since completing your course?

I am currently in my first year at University. I have made some short films, mainly just experimenting with ideas, etc. I hope to make lots more short films in the upcoming months. I recently directed this short film which was shot in one day and edited in one day for University.
