Students Get Experimental

By Cassio | Categorised in News

Last friday the Met Film School was treated to an exhibition of work from our BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking students who are currently studying on the Experimental Film and Video module.
The Met Film School classrooms were turned into an impromptu gallery as the exhibition, named ‘Ocularities’ took place. Students and tutors alike had the chance to watch, listen and even taste – experiencing the full capabilities of film.
Our second-year BA cohort have spent the past five weeks transforming themselves from film students into art students, creating works which fall within the category of ‘artists film and video’. Each room had its own theme ranging from Identity, to Material Moments to The Movement of Music, with more in between. The results included interactive installations, to digital wizardry that tricked the senses – all of the students created thought-provoking pieces that drew on influences as diverse as Carl Jung toLeonardo da Vinci. With each student bringing such a unique voice to their individual pieces, we look forward to seeing what they come up with for their final films!
