John Landis visits Met Film School!

By Cassio | Categorised in News

Yesterday Met Film School students were treated to a visit from American director John Landis, who took the time to talk about his career and latest movie Burke and Hare. Landis started his own career in the Fox mail room and worked his way through the ranks filling the roles of production assistant, actor, stuntman and writer en-route. As such he’s well placed to share his views with Met Film School students on surviving and succeeding in the industry. With a directorial career spanning four decades, Landis’ films have gone on to become some of the most popular movies of all time, including classics like The Blues Brothers, Trading Places and the iconic Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video.

Burke and Hare is Landis’ latest project, which was shot at Ealing Studios. The film stars Simon Pegg, Isla Fisher and Andy Serkis and follows the hapless exploits of two men as they venture into the murky and profitable world of providing cadavers for the medical fraternity in Nineteenth Century.  Set for release later this year, we look forward to seeing it hit UK cinemas!
